Smart Paste — paste that fits the app

Turn on Smart Paste and the pasted text adapts to where it lands:

• Terminals (Terminal, iTerm2, Warp, Ghostty): a path with spaces is shell-escaped automatically, so /My Projects/app just works.
• Code editors (Xcode, VS Code, Cursor, Sublime, JetBrains): curly quotes and dashes straighten, and invisible non-breaking spaces are normalized — no more mystery syntax errors from pasted text.
• Need the raw bytes? Hold ⌥ while pasting. Off by default; your clip history is never modified — the transform applies only to the copy being pasted.

Transforms & quick actions

Reshape any clip before pasting: case, trim, base64 encode/decode, URL-encode, JSON pretty/minify, hashes (SHA-256…), sort & dedupe lines — or edit it inline first. One-tap actions turn a clip into a QR code, an on-device translation, or a cleaned email/phone.

A Touch ID vault for keys & tokens

Copy an API key, token or card number and ClipBuddy detects it and moves it into an encrypted vault — unlocked with Touch ID — instead of leaving it in plain history. Encrypted on your Mac (no keychain sharing, no cloud). Password-manager copies are skipped.

Type into fields that block paste

Some bank sites, VMs and remote desktops disable ⌘V. ClipBuddy can type a clip in as real keystrokes so it lands anyway.

Snippets, undo & more

• Keyword snippets with dynamic placeholders (date, UUID, fill-in fields) — press ⌘⌥V, type ;sig, Enter.
• Clipboard undo (⌘⌥Z) rewinds the clipboard when you overwrite something.
• Multi-paste in order, smart filters (links/JSON/files/code), labels + hotkeys.
