Snippets That Type Themselves, Markdown Notes and 5,000 Templates

ClipBuddy 3.4 expands snippets as you type in any app, adds a Markdown notes workspace and nearly 5,000 templates, runs AI snippets on your Mac, and brings 15 editor themes and smoother scrolling through a long history. Versions 3.1 to 3.3 were never released; everything they held is in 3.4.

What is new

  • Keyword Expansion Type a snippet's keyword, like ;addr, in any app and it becomes the snippet. It stays off until you switch on Expand keywords as you type in Settings, Snippets, and macOS asks for Input Monitoring and Accessibility first. What you type is only checked against your keywords.
  • Markdown Notes A notes workspace on ⌥⌘N with a live preview for tasks, tables and code, plus tags, collections, daily notes, pins and version history. Notes can live as .md files in a folder you pick, and Markdown files open from Finder.
  • Templates Nearly 5,000 ready-made notes and snippets in 83 categories, 23 of them already filled in, with fill-in fields, menus and date pickers that ask for what each one needs.
  • Snippets Workspace ⌥⌘T opens your snippets. A token bar adds dates, times, the clipboard and fill-in fields, and any snippet can have its own shortcut.
  • AI Snippets (Pro) Selection Prompts and Chains run on Apple Intelligence, on your Mac (macOS 26).
  • Import (Pro) Bring your snippets over from TextExpander, aText and Raycast in one go.
  • Colours A copied colour shows as a swatch and copies back as HEX, RGB, HSL, CMYK, SwiftUI or Tailwind.
  • Editor Themes Nord, Dracula, Catppuccin, Tokyo Night, Gruvbox, Solarized and nine more, beside the original 27.
  • Free Plan 10 notes and 10 snippets, each its own allowance, beside your last 10 clips.

Fixed

  • Scrolling through a long history with images is smoother.
  • Screenshots translate, timestamps convert in one click, and several clips join with a separator you choose.
  • Usage stats show when you copy the most, and the space bar preview has Paste and Copy buttons.
  • Backups carry note images, version history, tags and collections.

The Library, as a Table: Sort, Inspect and Export Your History

ClipBuddy 3.0.1 adds a full table view of your clipboard history with sortable columns and a detail inspector, twelve backgrounds for the picker, and CSV or JSON export of everything you have copied.

What is new

  • Table View See the whole history as rows, sorted by type, source app, date copied, size, or how many times you have used a clip.
  • Detail Inspector Select any row to read the full content beside the list, with wrap and monospaced toggles for code.
  • Picker Backgrounds Twelve to choose from, including Aurora, Silk, Halo, Contours, Mesh, Beam, Orbit and Grain.
  • Export (Pro) Save the complete history to CSV or JSON, written off the main thread so a large history does not freeze the window.
  • Sensitive clips stay hidden in the table until you choose to reveal one, and any row jumps back to its place in the timeline.

Fixed

  • Export and the full Library are correctly Pro features again. Both could be reached without Pro in 3.0.0.
  • Picker customization holds its settings across relaunches, and the command row no longer draws past the edge of the drawer.
  • Keyboard focus stays visible at the required contrast on every accent theme, in both light and dark appearance.

Customize the Picker: Layout, Typography & Better Focus

ClipBuddy 3.0 makes the picker yours, with flexible placement, Cards or Rows, adjustable sizing and spacing, picker-only typography, and clearer interaction states.

What is new

  • Flexible Placement Open the picker at the bottom, at the top, or beside the pointer.
  • Cards or Rows Use automatic columns or choose a fixed layout from 1 to 6 columns.
  • Card Controls Adjust card height, the gap between cards, and the padding around the picker.
  • Picker Typography Choose a font and text size for the picker without changing the rest of the app.
  • Labels and Visibility Place labels above search or in a sidebar, and show or hide the toolbar and clip count.
  • On-Device AI Writing (Pro) Summarize, rewrite, extract action items, and explain text on macOS 26 or later with Apple Intelligence enabled.

Fixed

  • The search field and toolbar now span the available picker width without leaving an empty strip.
  • Picker controls no longer overlap when the window reaches its minimum width.
  • Improved light-theme contrast, selection outlines, and keyboard focus visibility across every accent theme.
  • The first click registers immediately, and card footer actions remain available while the pointer rests on a card.
